Celebrating Weddings at the Over The Moon x Manolo Blahnik Soirée
On March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, a vibrant gathering of brides-to-be and wedding industry professionals came together at the luxurious Manolo Blahnik store on Madison Avenue. This elegant event marked the fifth annual Over The Moon x Manolo Blahnik shopping soirée, perfectly timed as a prelude to New York Bridal Fashion Week and the forthcoming wedding season.
AExclusive Previews and Collections
Guests were treated to an exclusive preview of the new Lein for Over The Moon capsule collection, alongside exquisite fine jewelry crafted by LaPietra. Created by former Vogue editors Jessica Sailer Van Lith and Christina Caldwell, the LaPietra line features stunning cultured, old mine-cut diamonds, making a significant impact on the fine jewelry scene. Attendees enjoyed trying on various Manolo styles, from heels to flats, ensuring they accessorized perfectly for their big day.
Exclusive Fashion Highlights
The event showcased Lein for Over The Moon’s exclusives, with made-to-order pieces available for purchase. Designer Meredith Stoecklein created six distinct looks for the collaboration. Notably, OTM founder and Vogue editor Alexandra Macon wore her favorite from the collection, the breathtaking Beau Crystal Lattice Dress.
A Unique “Something Blue Bar” Experience
Enhancing the celebratory atmosphere, a “Something Blue Bar” served as a gifting suite filled with luxurious items from esteemed brands like Jo Malone, Dear Sundays, and Monogram Mary. Renowned celebrity hairstylist Valery Joseph, along with Meg Workman, prepared models for the night, highlighting the beauty benefits of 111Skin.
Signature Cocktails and Sustainable Sipping
The boutique bar came alive with signature cocktails crafted using Wilde Irish Gin, such as the playful OTM Moonlit Gimlet and Blahnik & Tonic. Guests also savored organic wines from Avaline Wine, a female-founded brand that champions sustainable sipping with a conscious twist.
Customizing the Perfect Pair of Manolos
For those who couldn’t resist a new pair of Manolos, a shoe customization station by P.S. Calligraphy allowed guests to personalize their soles with gold foil monograms and messages. Lydia, daughter of New York-based wedding planner Norma Cohen, playfully inscribed “Don’t” on one sole and “Trip” on the other.
Milestones and Inspirations Abound
As the Bridal Fashion Week kicked off, attendees celebrated not just engagements but personal milestones. Planner Veronica Joy indulged in brown suede Manolos for her birthday, while Savannah Rockwin from Over The Moon celebrated securing her first pair—a must-have for any Sex and the City fan. The evening was further graced by the presence of the show’s author, Candace Bushnell.
A Night to Remember
Brides-to-be like Hope LaVine and Madelyn Wysner found inspiration for their wedding wardrobes, while recently married Zaye de Givenchy and influencers like Ashley Avignone and Samantha Varvel soaked in the evening’s creativity. One of the evening’s most delightful guests was designer Jennifer Behr’s cavapoo, Alice, who enjoyed refreshments offered from a Manolo Blahnik dog bowl.
Even after the boutique doors closed, the spirit of celebration and shopping thrived. With the Over The Moon x Manolo Blahnik NYBFW event being a yearly highlight, guests relished every moment of a truly unforgettable night.
