Cassie Donegan: Life After the Crown
Miss America 2026, Cassie Donegan, recently opened up about the profound changes in her life since winning the prestigious title. Speaking at the 2026 Old Bags Luncheon in Palm Beach, Florida, where Priscilla Presley was the guest speaker, Donegan shared insights into her journey as Miss America.
Having been crowned on September 7, 2025, Donegan’s life has dramatically shifted as she fulfills her responsibilities representing the Miss America organization. The beauty queen expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received since taking on the role.
“I was surrounded by so much love before, but the magnitude of support and generosity I’ve experienced since becoming Miss America is often hard to comprehend,” Donegan shared. She emphasized that while her life hasn’t drastically changed, it has certainly brought more blessings into her world.
Meeting Remarkable Individuals
One of the highlights of Donegan’s reign has been the opportunity to meet inspiring people from various walks of life. “They say that meeting Miss America could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but what I find equally impactful is the encounters I have with everyone I meet,” she noted. This continuous interaction offers her a fresh perspective and enriches her life experiences.
Future Aspirations in Music
As Donegan looks towards life after Miss America, she is keen on pursuing her passion for singing. A talented vocalist, she showcased her skills by performing some of Elvis Presley’s songs at the Old Bags Luncheon. “That’s the goal,” she stated when asked if winning Miss America would pave the way for a full-time singing career. “I went to school for musical theater, and I aspire to take my career to larger stages.”
Overcoming Negativity
Despite the accolades, Donegan has faced criticism, particularly regarding her appearance during the national pageant. She believes that negativity often surfaces for those in the spotlight, but it’s crucial not to let it affect one’s self-worth. “It’s important to selectively choose what you allow yourself to absorb,” she advised, emphasizing the importance of focusing on positivity and surrounding oneself with supportive individuals.
In her journey, Donegan has claimed significant prizes, including a $50,000 tuition scholarship and additional funds from the Miss America Talent Competition. As she continues her tenure, she remains grounded and dedicated to making the most of her platform, whether in music or other endeavors.
