Exciting Updates for Borderlands 4 in 2026
As we dive into 2026, we are thrilled to outline the upcoming features and content for Borderlands 4. This year promises significant enhancements and expansions that cater to community feedback, ensuring a more enjoyable gaming experience.
Major Content Updates and Community-Requested Features
This year, we are focusing on introducing major content expansions along with vital improvements based on player feedback. High on the list of requested features are cross-save progression and shared progress across accounts, which include SDU (Storage Deck Upgrade), map progress, and various in-game activities. These enhancements will ensure a seamless gaming experience regardless of the platform.
Endgame Content and New Challenges
Recognizing the demand for engaging endgame content, we are excited to announce new activities including a Raid Boss and a Takedown. We aim to ensure that every second of gameplay is thrilling while enhancing performance and stability. The first major update of the year introduces Photo Mode, a highly anticipated feature that allows players to capture moments in Kairos.
Upcoming Premium Content: Bounty Pack 2 and Story Pack 1
In February, players can look forward to the release of Bounty Pack 2, titled “Legend of the Stone Demon.” This pack will introduce new missions, legendary loot, and an exciting themed Vault Card with unique cosmetics. Following that, the Story Pack 1, “Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned,” will launch in March, introducing a new region, fresh story missions, and the first new Vault Hunter, C4SH.
The New Vault Hunter: C4SH
C4SH, our new Vault Hunter, brings a unique gameplay experience as a former casino dealer bot turned adventurer. He will come equipped with three unique Action Skills and expandable abilities through specialized skill trees. Players can anticipate a deeper narrative arc involving the beloved character Ellie, set against a backdrop of cosmic horror and intense gameplay.
Quality of Life Improvements on the Horizon
Beyond new content, we are dedicated to enhancing quality-of-life features, including a future increase to the Vault Hunter level cap and cross-platform saves. We’re also working on shared progression which allows players to explore various Vault Hunters and builds seamlessly. Additionally, expect more free events, enriching the living world of Kairos.
Understanding Major and Minor Updates
As we roll out these updates, it’s important to note the distinction between Major and Minor Updates in the 2026 Roadmap. Major Updates involve larger changes, such as new content and balance adjustments, while Minor Updates address smaller issues and refresh weekly activities, providing a consistent weekly gameplay experience.
