Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 Raises $2.44 Million for Charity

The annual speedrunning event, Awesome Games Done Quick 2026, has successfully raised an impressive $2.44 million (£1.8 million) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This year’s fundraising event took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and showcased an array of high-octane gaming action.

    A Thrilling Conclusion

The event culminated with an exciting speedrun of Pokémon Emerald, captivating both in-person attendees and online viewers. Thousands of fans flocked to the venue to witness these incredible feats of skill while the entire event was streamed live on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube.

    Event Highlights

Among the standout moments were a unique Resident Evil 2 Remake run played on a Guitar Hero controller and a massive 70-person relay race of the beloved classic, Super Mario 64. Another crowd-pleaser was the impressive gathering of French-styled cosplayers, who added a vibrant flair to the “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” segment.

    Games Done Quick’s Charitable Impact

Since its inception in 2010, Games Done Quick has become a major player in the charity fundraising scene, amassing an astonishing total of over $59.8 million for various charities worldwide. Previous beneficiaries have included organizations such as the Malala Fund and the Organization for Autism Research, demonstrating the platform’s commitment to making a positive impact.

    Looking Ahead

The excitement doesn’t end here. The next event, set to kick off on February 5th in Minneapolis, will aim to generate funds for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières. This continued dedication to supporting humanitarian causes showcases the ongoing mission of Games Done Quick.

    Summer Games Done Quick 2025

This year’s Summer Games Done Quick raised an impressive $2,436,614 (£1.8 million) for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, setting a high bar for future events. The gaming community’s enthusiasm and financial support play a crucial role in making these charitable endeavors successful.

    An Engaging Community

The success of Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 not only highlights the remarkable talents of speedrunners but also the generosity and passion of the gaming community. With each event, participants and viewers alike come together to make a significant difference, proving that gaming can transcend entertainment to create a lasting positive impact on society.
