Sharan Sahota Shines in Miss England, Advocates for Community Causes
Sharan Sahota, a dedicated community volunteer, has been making waves after winning the Miss Coventry title and competing in the prestigious Miss England competition. With a strong commitment to supporting young carers, cultural inclusion, and various charity projects, Sharan considers it an “overwhelming honour” to represent her city on a national stage.
Championing Important Causes
Through her victory as Miss Coventry, Sharan has effectively brought attention to causes that resonate deeply with both her and the Coventry community. Her journey began as the Chair of Youth Engagement for BOPA (British Organisation of People of Asian Origin), where she promotes cultural representation and fosters collaboration among diverse communities.
A Voice for Young Carers
Sharan entered Miss England to raise awareness about young carers, drawing from her personal experience in supporting family members living with disabilities. Her advocacy aims to shed light on the challenges faced by young carers and the importance of recognizing their contributions.
A Proud Representation of Coventry
“Coventry is renowned as the City of Peace and Reconciliation, and that carries profound meaning,” Sharan shared. Competing at the Miss World England finals in November 2025, she seized the opportunity to showcase Coventry’s message of harmony, resilience, and community spirit, despite not winning the title.
Highlighting Support for Vulnerable Communities
Her platform has allowed her to spotlight numerous organizations, including Carers Trust Heart of England and Midlands Langar Seva Society, that work to uplift vulnerable individuals and unpaid carers. Notably, Sharan is also the youngest recipient of Coventry City Council’s Good Citizen Award.
Redefining Modern Pageantry
Sharan emphasizes that modern pageants offer more than just tradition; they play a critical role in advocacy and service. “The journey is about service, not just a title,” she stated, inspiring others to leverage their challenges as strengths to make a positive impact.
Family Pride and Community Support
Reflecting on Sharan’s achievements, her father expressed a sense of immense pride as both a father and a community member. “Seeing her represent Coventry—as a city that stands for peace and reconciliation—is profoundly moving,” he remarked, hoping she continues to develop her skills and pursue a future as a barrister.
