According to a representative from Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn, Zampella died in a tragic car accident on Sunday along Angeles Crest Highway. Reports indicate that he was one of two individuals involved in the crash, which reportedly included a red 2026 Ferrari 296 GTS.

The California Highway Patrol revealed that the accident occurred at approximately 12:43 p.m. on a section of the highway, known for its breathtaking views and perilous curves. A preliminary investigation suggested that the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a concrete barrier, ultimately engulfing the car in flames.
