The Rise of Thai Drama Stars in Fashion: Dior’s New Ambassadors
Dior has made headlines by appointing Thai actresses Sirilak Kwong, better known as Lingling, and Kornnaphat Sethratanapong, affectionately referred to as Orm, as its brand ambassadors. This move highlights the remarkable rise of Thai drama stars who are increasingly influencing fashion trends, rivaling even K-pop idols.
Breaking Ground in Entertainment
The duo, dubbed “LingOrm,” gained popularity through their breakout series “The Secret of Us.” They continued their success with their latest show, “Only You,” both of which are part of the burgeoning girls’ love (GL) genre that enjoys a substantial global following.
A Perfect Fit for Dior
In an exclusive statement to WWD, Dior described Lingling and Orm as “a captivating duo who perfectly embody Dior’s spirit of freedom and enduring elegance.” Their unique styles and dynamic presence resonate with the brand’s ethos, making them ideal representatives.
Debuting at Paris Fashion Week
Lingling and Orm made a significant debut during Paris Fashion Week at the Dior show in March. By the time they returned for Jonathan Anderson’s inaugural womenswear show in October, they had surpassed competitors in earned media value, according to a report by Karla Otto, Lefty, and CTZAR.
Influencing the Fashion Landscape
In a groundbreaking achievement, the report noted that for the first time, Thai drama stars have outperformed K-pop icons in influencing fashion. “Their strategy? Volume. Lingling Kwong and Orm Kornnaphat each posted extensive content about Dior, which significantly increased engagement,” the report stated. Orm was the top influencer for Spring 2026, achieving an impressive EMV of $23.5 million, while Lingling closely followed with $21.5 million.
Profiles of the Ambassadors
Lingling’s diverse background includes being born in Hong Kong to a Chinese father and a Thai mother. Fluent in multiple languages, she began her journey in entertainment through beauty pageants before being scouted by Channel 3 in Thailand. Besides her role as an ambassador for renowned brands, she also founded a lifestyle brand called Always Wonder.
Orm’s Rising Star
Orm, who is the daughter of veteran actress Koy Narumon Phongsuphap, entered the entertainment world in 2019 with “Hotel Stars.” Since then, she has become a prominent figure in Channel 3 dramas, amassing 2.4 million Instagram followers. She also runs her own fashion line, Keep Silent.
Looking Ahead
Expressing their excitement about their partnership with Dior, both Lingling and Orm emphasized their admiration for Jonathan Anderson’s creative vision. As they approach new projects, including a third series based on the novel “Wad Fun Wan Wiwa,” their influence in both entertainment and fashion continues to grow.
Dior recognizes the potential of the Thai Wave, having previously signed actors Nattawin Wattanagitiphat and Phakphum Romsaithong as ambassadors. The collaboration with Lingling and Orm reinforces the brand’s commitment to celebrating diverse talents in the fashion world.
