Revamped Copilot Capabilities
Microsoft is reintroducing features that allow Copilot to modify your PC settings. Previously, these functions were removed, but now, Copilot aims to answer user inquiries about various settings, linking directly to Windows’ extensive Settings application.
Integration with Popular Services
Recent updates have seen the testing of Copilot Connectors, which were made available to Windows Insiders. These connectors will provide Copilot with access to services like Gmail and Dropbox, streamlining how users interact with their emails and files.
Enhanced Document Handling
New document creation features allow users to export Copilot chats into formats such as Word, PDF, Excel, or PowerPoint. This functionality enables further editing and refinement, making the integration of AI into daily tasks more efficient.
AI Actions in File Explorer
Copilot is also introducing AI actions within Windows File Explorer. This addition will appear in the right-click menu, facilitating direct file manipulation. Users will be able to batch-edit images and receive summaries of documents, enhancing workflow productivity.
Learning from Past Rollouts
Microsoft appears to have taken lessons from the previously flawed rollout of Windows Recall. Initially, the plan was to launch Recall without prior testing through the Windows Insider program, which is crucial for receiving early feedback on features before widespread release.
Future Availability of Features
As of now, it’s unclear when these enhancements will be accessible to the general public. Some features might remain exclusive to Windows Insiders, and they are not incorporated in the current Windows 11 25H2 update available through the Release Preview channel.
