Roku Unveils Exciting New Features
Roku has recently announced a series of updates aimed at enhancing the streaming experience for its users. Notably, these upgrades will be provided free of charge to all existing customers. Users can look forward to improved functionality across various features, including an AI-powered Roku Voice, revamped Roku City screensavers, and a new portable projector priced at an affordable $198.
AI-Enhanced Roku Voice
One of the standout features is the upgraded Roku Voice, which will now incorporate artificial intelligence. This enhancement allows users to ask more specific questions about movies, shows, or actors, and receive accurate responses. For example, users can inquire, “How scary is The Shining?” or “What other films has X actor starred in?” This conversational context capability offers a more interactive and engaging viewing experience.
Streamlined Bluetooth Headphone Functionality
In another significant update, Roku will introduce Bluetooth headphone mode on the Roku Streaming Stick and Roku Streaming Stick Plus. This feature removes the necessity of using the mobile app to connect Bluetooth headphones. Users can now pair their headphones directly with the Roku device, simplifying the audio experience while watching their favorite content.
Interactive Viewing Options
Roku is also enhancing its platform with new interactive trailer buttons, such as “Ways to Watch” and “Save.” These options will streamline the process of accessing movies directly from trailers, eliminating the need to navigate back to the main menu. The Live TV Channel will feature a fresh layout, incorporating a search bar and showcasing two available streaming services per title based on user subscriptions.
Improved Sports Discovery Features
Sports enthusiasts will benefit from new discovery features that display live scores directly on match tiles. Additionally, users can set reminders for upcoming games and receive notifications when they begin. This focus on real-time sports information enhances the overall value of Roku as a leading streaming service for sports fans.
Mobile App Updates and Enhanced User Experience
The Roku mobile app is set to receive updates that include shortcuts for popular functions such as closed captions and sleep timers, as well as options to rate and mark movies as watched. The app will also incorporate a new navigation bar that allows users to effortlessly scroll through categories, making the app more user-friendly.
Introducing the New Smart Projector
Additionally, Roku has launched the Vankyo smart projector, now available at Walmart for $198. This portable projector boasts 1080p HD resolution, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a brightness of 330 lumens. With features like auto keystone adjustment and dual speakers, it is an ideal addition for those seeking a versatile projection solution for home entertainment.
Expanded Smart Home Compatibility
Roku has also broadened its smart home integration, now supporting Philips Ambilight. This enhancement aims to deliver a more immersive viewing experience by synchronizing the lighting with the content being streamed. With these updates, Roku continues to solidify its position as a favorite among streaming device users.
