Gandy attributes much of his success to his groundbreaking contract with Dolce & Gabbana, where he became the face of the brand’s Light Blue fragrance line. “Today, brands like Guess create campaigns featuring models who don’t even exist,” Gandy laments. “AI scraping imagery to fabricate a digital model is a significant grey area that raises ethical concerns.”

Gandy warns that unregulated AI use could irreparably harm the fashion industry, stating, “Britain boasts some of the world’s finest models, and we must continue this legacy.” He highlights the potential negative impact on not only models but also photographers and makeup artists, who contribute to the artistry of fashion campaigns.
“It undermines the craftsmanship of many talented individuals,” Gandy explains, emphasizing the artistic community that deserves recognition.

As a father of two young daughters, Gandy is equally concerned about the potential mental health impact of AI-generated imagery on youth. “We are still unaware of the long-term effects of staring at something that isn’t even real,” he notes solemnly.
