WINDOW ROCK — Camille Uentillie, a resident of Kinlichee, Arizona, was crowned the 2025-26 Miss Navajo Nation on Saturday evening during a ceremony held at the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds. Her message to the audience highlighted her commitment to cultural preservation and youth engagement.
About Camille Uentillie
Uentillie is proud of her heritage, identifying as Tsi’naajinii, with Tłʼááshchíʼí as her maternal clan. Her family lineage includes her maternal grandfather, Tó’áhání, and paternal grandfather, Tó Dík’ǫ́zhí. She is the daughter of Charlene and Larson Uentillie, whose support she values immensely.
A Meaningful Victory
Upon receiving her silver crown during the 73rd Annual Miss Navajo Nation Pageant coronation, Uentillie expressed, “This win means a lot. It signifies that my family’s teachings will be communicated widely.” She emphasized the importance of the Navajo language and the culture it embodies, expressing excitement about her journey ahead.
Passion for Youth and Community
At 25, Uentillie was motivated to participate in the pageant due to her concern for the younger generation in her community. She stated, “I was worried about where our youth was heading. I want them to learn everything I’ve pursued, ensuring it continues to grow.” Her vision includes fostering education and cultural connection among the youth.
Encouragement from Past Titleholders
Uentillie is the second woman from Kinlichee to hold this esteemed title, following Karen Leuppe, who served as Miss Navajo Nation from 1994-95. Uentillie shared that Leuppe had offered crucial advice, encouraging her to maintain resilience and a supportive mindset for her community.
Future Plans as Miss Navajo Nation
Uentillie is eager to engage the youth through community projects and language learning initiatives. “We will start working on community projects right away,” she said, underscoring her commitment to promoting sports and accessible educational programs. She aims to inspire youth by encouraging them to embrace the Navajo language actively.

Reflecting on her experience throughout the pageant, Uentillie noted the strong bonds she formed with fellow contestants, including Tanesha Francis, Eriona Tapahe, and Cora Hubbard from Kinlichee. She expressed pride in her sisters, stating, “They taught me a lot, and I’m going to do my best to represent them and everyone looking up to me.”

Awards included Best Butcher to Taneesha Francis, Best Traditional Food and Best Essay to Eriona Tapahe, and Miss Congeniality to Taneesha Francis.
