Heartwood Saunas Expands with New Workshop in Glantwymyn
Heartwood Saunas, a leading handcrafted outdoor sauna manufacturer, has made a significant move by establishing its own workshop and warehouse in Glantwymyn. This new facility marks a pivotal step in the company’s growth and aims to enhance its production capabilities.
Room for Growth and Innovation
Founder Olly Davey expressed enthusiasm about the new space, stating it will allow the company to expand its workforce and take on new research and development initiatives. “Having this facility enables us to increase our capacity to meet the growing nationwide demand for our saunas,” he remarked.
Enhanced Processes and Quality Control
Olly emphasized that the new workshop has prompted the implementation of new processes and systems, which were unfeasible in their previous location. This transition is expected to elevate both production quality and operational efficiency.
Dedicated Space for Research and Design
With the additional square footage, Heartwood Saunas can now focus on research and design, enabling them to explore sustainable materials and develop bespoke sauna projects. “It’s a significant milestone for our team,” Olly added, highlighting the advantages of the improved layout.
The Journey from Humble Beginnings
Heartwood Saunas was founded in 2017 with Olly initially crafting saunas single-handedly. Since then, the company has rapidly expanded its presence across the UK, tapping into the increasing popularity of home saunas.
Impact of Covid-19 on Sauna Popularity
Olly pointed out that the Covid-19 pandemic significantly shifted consumer interest toward saunas, as individuals became increasingly health-conscious and spent more time at home. An 84% increase in online searches for “home saunas” during the early months of 2020 underlines this trend.
Expanding the Team
Heartwood Saunas’ workforce, currently at 17, is set to grow to 22 or 23 with the expansion of their operations. The team specializes in bespoke sauna designs that incorporate modern aesthetics with functionality, including options for wood-burning and electric-powered stoves.
