Emanuel Ungaro’s Resort 2026 Collection Shines at Porto Montenegro
Unexpectedly dropping its latest line, Emanuel Ungaro dazzled attendees at the International Fashion Festival in Porto Montenegro with its Resort 2026 collection.
A Festive Runway Debut
The festival, now in its seventh year, is not only a platform for high-net-worth individuals but also a public spectacle broadcasted on national television. Local retailer Twenty Two Concept Store quickly recognized the appeal of Ungaro’s playful designs, placing an order immediately following the show.
Highlights from the International Fashion Festival
This year’s festival featured an eclectic mix of events, including a captivating runway show by French designer Charles de Vilmorin, who showcased ruffly, cabaret-inspired outfits. Additionally, Italian fashion editor Sara Sozzani Maino led a masterclass focused on sustainability, while a unique video presentation featured student designs brought to life through artificial intelligence.
Ungaro’s Rich Heritage in the Region
Marie Fournier, the general manager of Emanuel Ungaro, expressed the brand’s commitment to the region, citing past fashion events in Belgrade and Kotor. Current designer Kobi Halperin emphasized the collection’s connection to the vibrant atmosphere of Porto Montenegro, where colorful dresses and metallic sandals are a common sight.
Inspiration from Global Travels
Halperin’s Resort 2026 collection is heavily inspired by a recent trip to India, featuring striking pinks and gold sequins. The designs not only resonate with the locale’s fashion-forward audience but also align perfectly with the open-air fashion shows hosted annually in the region.
Addressing Fashion’s Impact
As festival president, Sozzani Maino shed light on critical issues within the fashion industry, urging consumers to be mindful of their purchasing choices. By highlighting the negative effects of fast fashion through thought-provoking documentaries, she called for a shift towards sustainable practices.
Encouraging Fashion Beyond Tradition
Giorgia Virzì, a strategic advisor for the festival, shared insights on expanding fashion horizons beyond the classic capitals like Paris and Milan. De Vilmorin echoed this sentiment, noting the immense potential for fashion in Montenegro, where locals embrace stylish attire with enthusiasm.
Avant-Garde Styles and Theatrical Designs
The festival also showcased the avant-garde creations of designer Ana Krgović, whose brand Shift debuted striking jumpsuits and innovative designs. Alongside this, de Vilmorin is preparing for a theatrical production in Paris, blending his flair for fashion with performing arts.
