Audrey Kittila: Embracing Service and Sisterhood as Miss Georgia 2025
A Different Narrative in Pageantry
The competitive world of beauty pageants is often characterized by cutthroat rivalry and privilege. However, Audrey Kittila, the newly crowned Miss Georgia 2025, challenges that stereotype. For her, the realm of pageantry is a powerful platform for service, sisterhood, and unparalleled opportunities.
Background and Achievements
Kittila’s journey includes previous titles of Miss University of Georgia, Miss Cobb County, and twice Miss Atlanta, amassing $47,800 in scholarships throughout her pageant career. Raised in Milton, Georgia, she is the middle child in her family and has dedicated much of her time to First Baptist Church Alpharetta.
A Mentor’s Perspective
Myles Chatham, head worship pastor at First City Church Alpharetta, saw Kittila’s potential early on when he invited her to join the worship band. “She’s kind and approachable,” Chatham noted, highlighting her leadership qualities and genuine passion for uplifting the next generation.
Discovering Pageantry
Kittila stumbled upon the Miss University of Georgia competition while touring the university, drawn initially by its speech pathology program. Sharing a casual remark with her father, she decided to enter the competition for fun, unaware of how profoundly it would influence her life.
From Competitor to Titleholder
Despite having no formal pageant experience, Kittila had a strong background in performance arts. She modeled from the age of 14 and showcased her musical talent on the violin in competitions. When she won her first crown as Miss University of Georgia 2022, she realized that success doesn’t require a lifelong commitment to pageantry.
Championing Education for All
Advocating for accessible education through her “Education for All” initiative, Kittila aims to reduce dropout rates in Georgia. This platform allows her to connect with thousands of students, instilling a love for learning and promoting the importance of high school diplomas.
Looking Towards the Future
With her recent crowning, Kittila is preparing for the Miss America competition in September. Balancing her role as Miss Georgia with her graduate studies in speech-language pathology, she continues to represent the Miss Georgia organization, all while nurturing a network of friendships formed through competition.
