Emma Vrieze Crowned Miss Minnesota 2025
A fierce competition held over three days culminated in the crowning of the new Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota’s Teen, showcasing the talent and dedication of 40 candidates from across the state.
The Crowning Moment
Emma Vrieze, representing Glacial Waters and hailing from Park Rapids, secured the title, taking over from last year’s titleholder, Emily Schumacher. Vrieze stood out among 24 other contestants, demonstrating both poise and passion throughout the event.
Academic and Professional Background
A nursing student at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Vrieze is also a Float Team Nursing Assistant with Essentia Health. Her commitment to combining education and community service plays a pivotal role in her journey as a titleholder.
Community Service Initiative
Vrieze’s community service project, “Swim With Knowledge: Water Safety,” highlights her deep-rooted passion for water safety education. “As a competitive swimmer and lifeguard, I’ve learned the importance of safety around water,” she remarked. This project aims to educate individuals of all ages about essential water safety practices.
Scholarships and Future Opportunities
As the newly crowned Miss Minnesota, Vrieze receives a $10,000 educational scholarship. In addition, she will represent Minnesota in the upcoming 2026 Miss America competition, gaining a platform to further pursue her passions and initiatives.
Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2025
Alongside Vrieze, 17-year-old Lily Geyer, Miss Twin Cities’ Teen, claimed the title of Miss Minnesota’s Teen 2025. Geyer, also awarded a $2,500 educational scholarship, will compete in the Miss America’s Teen 2026 pageant, utilizing her influence to promote her initiative, “Cheer for the Children: Provide, Support and Promote Success.”
Connecting Communities
Geyer’s mission revolves around connecting communities and providing vital resources to students, ensuring they have access to supplies and hygiene products necessary for their education. “My focus is to help students build a brighter future,” she stated, reflecting her commitment to community welfare.

The event, highlighting the determination and aspirations of these young women, successfully showcased their commitment to service and leadership. With runner-ups like Jasmie Kotek from Miss Owatonna and Maisie Adams and Abigail Selyukov in the Miss Minnesota’s Teen category, the competition proved to be a celebration of empowerment and community involvement.
