Exciting Changes in Clarendon: New Restaurant and Retail Vacancies

    Published June 5, 2025 at 1:45 PM

A dermatology studio has recently closed its doors in Clarendon, leaving behind a spacious 3,000-square-foot vacancy in a shopping center witnessing significant transformations. Ever/Body, which was sandwiched between Chip City and The Golden Fox Boutique, has ceased operations after just two years at 2800 Clarendon Blvd. This closure coincides with the ongoing renovations of the nearby Barnes & Noble and the anticipation of a new restaurant at The Crossing Clarendon.

    Retail Developments: What’s Happening Nearby?

The space previously occupied by Ever/Body is currently listed as “available soon” by Regency Centers. The dermatology studio still maintains another location in Washington, D.C.’s Logan Circle area. Just a stone’s throw away, the Barnes & Noble that has served the community for years is also closing for an extensive remodel. This consolidation effort is part of a plan to revitalize the shopping experience in the area, with exciting new ventures slated for 2026, including an ax-throwing bar, Three Notch’d Brewing Co.

New Dining Options on the Horizon

In addition to the retail shifts, the community eagerly awaits the opening of Westville, a casual American restaurant aiming for a summer debut. Set to occupy the space where Jos. A. Bank once stood, Westville is determined to offer a “veggie-forward” menu. This will mark Westville’s tenth location and its inaugural site outside of New York City, a move that local food enthusiasts are particularly excited about.

    Transformations in Clarendon’s Business Landscape

As existing establishments close or undergo renovations, new businesses are filling the gaps. Notably, Evereve, a women’s clothing store, opened its doors in April, complementing the retail dynamics of the area. The arrival of these new businesses signals a continual evolution in Clarendon’s shopping and dining scene, aiming to meet the demands of the community.

    Community Response and Anticipation

The closure of Ever/Body has sparked conversations among locals about the future of the shopping center. While changes can be unsettling, many residents view the upcoming changes as a positive step toward revitalization and increased foot traffic in the area. The transformation aligns with the community’s desire for diverse dining and shopping options, fostering a vibrant local economy.

Conclusion: The Future Looks Bright for Clarendon

With a blend of closures and new openings, Clarendon’s commercial landscape is undergoing a significant transformation. Residents can look forward to fresh dining experiences and improved shopping options as these changes unfold. Community members are encouraged to embrace these developments, which are set to elevate the area’s appeal and foster a thriving local economy.
