2025 Albany Tulip Queen Finalists Announced
Mayor Kathy Sheehan recently unveiled the five remarkable finalists for the prestigious title of the 2025 Albany Tulip Queen during a press conference held in the beautiful Washington Park. These finalists were chosen for their exemplary volunteer service, unwavering community commitment, and impressive leadership skills, and will form the 2025 Albany Tulip Court.
Celebrating Community Engagement and Literacy Advocacy
As part of their duties, the finalists will embark on various community service and literacy advocacy initiatives, showcasing their dedication to enhancing Albany’s vibrant community spirit. The Tulip Court is not just an honor; it represents a commitment to nurturing connections and uplifting local voices.
The Grand Crowning Ceremony
The highly anticipated crowning of the 77th Albany Tulip Queen will take place on Saturday, May 10, at noon, at the Lakehouse Stage during the annual Tulip Festival. This celebration, presented by KeyBank, will feature special guests, including Mayor Sheehan and the reigning 2024 Tulip Queen, Naishaly Velez Galan, alongside Chad O’Hara from B95.5.
Meet the Finalists

- LeeAshia Green (22, Albany): A champion for self-love and mental health awareness, LeeAshia dreams of starting her own business and creating a loving family.
- Alyssa Kamara (23, Albany): An alumna of the University at Albany, Alyssa focuses on environmental justice and public policy, aiming to honor Albany’s heritage and inspire future generations.
- Cait Tizzone (23, Albany): A SUNY Binghamton graduate pursuing a Master’s in Criminal Justice, Cait seeks to advocate for the voiceless through her community service efforts.
- Theadora Welch (21, Albany): Currently studying at Russell Sage College, Theadora aspires to empower Albany’s youth and promote community belonging.
- Abigail Williams (21, Albany): A passionate storyteller and game designer, Abigail mentors youth in STEM fields, inspiring young women to thrive alongside their communities.
