BLOOMING BOUQUET: Dior Unveils Its Pre-Fall Collection in a Stunning Campaign

Dior is gearing up for its much-anticipated pre-fall show in Japan, revealing captivating glimpses of its new collection through a vibrant campaign shot by renowned photographer Yuriko Takagi. Known for her unique approach, Takagi has collaborated with the iconic French fashion house multiple times, establishing a visual narrative that resonates with both style and culture.

    Artistic Vision and Unique Perspective

The campaign features a series of dreamlike images that artfully manipulate perspective and reflections, presenting varied angles of the women’s collection designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Set against the enchanting backdrop of Tō-ji Temple in Kyoto, the official unveiling is scheduled for April 15, capturing the essence of Japanese aesthetics intertwined with Dior’s signature flair.

A Fresh Take on Pre-Fall Collections

This marks the first look at the pre-fall collection, which typically debuts to the press in December, coinciding with its retail launch. However, this year Dior opted for a more discreet approach, sparking discussions about potential creative shifts within the brand.

    Floral Inspiration and Timeless Elegance

In harmony with the show’s exquisite location, floral designs flourish throughout the collection. Hand-painted blossoms adorn kimono-style coats, sleeveless dresses embellished with delicate fringing, and the iconic Dior Book Tote. Additionally, ethereal flowering branches are embroidered onto pale chiffon tunics, creating a stunning palette of watery pastels.

    Dynamic Talent and Collaboration

The campaign showcases an impressive lineup of models, including Japanese talents Hanaka Hori and Rinno Ogahara, alongside Franco-Japanese model Mika Schneider, Jamaican model Dru Campbell, and Italian model Claudia Campana. Styled by Elin Svahn and guided by art director Margot Populaire, the campaign shines through the expert makeup artistry of Peter Philips and the hairstyling of Olivier Schawalder.

    A Rich Cultural Legacy

Dior’s connection to Japan runs deep; founder Christian Dior first introduced his collections to the Japanese audience in 1953. Since then, the brand has maintained a rich cultural bond, continually drawing inspiration from the country’s vibrant heritage and artistic traditions, which plays a significant role in shaping the latest collection.

Photographer Yuriko Takagi: A Visionary Lens

Yuriko Takagi, trained in graphic design and fashion, has made a name for herself through her eye-catching photography. Her work often highlights the intersection of culture and fashion, as seen in her renowned series featuring Issey Miyake’s designs among local communities across the globe. Takagi’s unique perspective, showcased in her previous collaborations with Dior, captures the emotional essence of clothing, much like the portraits she takes of individuals.

With the pre-fall 2025 campaign, Dior not only celebrates its fashion prowess but also pays homage to the beauty of Japanese culture, embodied in stunning designs and engaging visual storytelling. As anticipation builds for the show in Kyoto, fashion enthusiasts around the world eagerly await the collection’s debut and its resonance within contemporary fashion narratives.
